    %@$$$# Movies Discussion Thread #$$$@%

Anything you may have downloaded or seen in theaters recently

    Vent or Bless

Siskel & Ebert the fuck out of whatever

I hate IMDB hypocrisy and have been banned too many times,

    What have you watched recently?

    What did you hate recently?

    What did you love recently?

Anything,You want to discuss about movies, post here

i want a movie discussion thread to succeed so badly that i will rep all posters who post here for one week solid starting tommorow @ 10:00am till next Friday, and i have good rep power (no reciprocation needed)

    Anything goes

    Last three movies Ive watched

Ted -was ok, kinda cute and sweet for a raunchy comedy , found Mila Kunis character to be annoying at times, overall, if you like FG or AD you will be amused, idk it was just beetween ok and good

The Campaign- Im a whore for Will Ferrell comedies from Gary Sanchez Productions IE Step Brothers ,Anchorman, The Other Guys The Goods etc. this was the weakest of those due to lame direction by Austin Powers/Meet The Parents director Jay Roach, had very funny laugh out loud moments and found myself more entertained by it than Ted, but i think it would have been funnier if Adam McKay directed, and for the first time i enjoyed Zach galifinagis, i dont want to say it was good but i was entertained even by its shortcomings, i give it a good rating but not with enthusiasm

Wrong Turn 5-You its a horror movie about imbred cannibals, and its the fifth of its kind, so yeah it sucked, but guess what i love cheesy horror if done right, WT4 was actually good for cliche direct to video horror, i even enjoyed WT3 to a degree so when i say this listen, AVOID AT ALL COSTS, im sure you will anyways , but even if your a retard like me who enjoys shit like this, YOU will be disapointed, worst in the series, seemed rushed and slapped together cheaply by college students, it made WT4 look like the godfather i shit you not,

you don't have to read my above incoherent ramblings, but im happy to read your recent input about movies you watched

    so go nuts

I saw Wreck it Ralph last weekend.

I liked the movie as did my wife (who's not into video games). The first half or so was awesome filled with video game references that are aimed directly at th 27-40 age group. (Guys like me who remember watching Q-bert on Saturday Supercade). Once they get to the candyland like sugar rush part of the movie it turns rather convential but it's still good.

Not yp to the levels of classic disney and pixar films but I still recommend it to anyone into video games.

My brother saw it. He and his wife both said it fell apart about half way through. They convinced me to, at best, wait for pay-per-view to show it. The reviews are solidly mixed, as well. It's a gamble.

Speaking of film reviews. There are some very insightful, and fairly funny film reviews at: http://redlettermedia.com/

I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for some truly intelligent film analysis.

(wrote this junk while others were posting, not ignoring, i idled out)

When bored i download movies that look like shit, and were direct to dvd

here are a couple that aren't really great but found myself watching in their entirety

    The Victim-2011
Michael Biehns (kyle reese terminator) attempt directing a grindhouse type movie about strippers, crooked cops, and a serial killer, not good but surprisingly ok for its overall cheesiness
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1684564/

    Vile-2011
Hostel/ saw torture porn genre film that was surprisingly crazy, but yet well done for budget and acting, if you miss saw check it out,
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1711018/

don't hold it against me if you watch them

oh and this movie is so retarded you have to watch it just for lol appeal, michael rooker goes ice fishing with his family and monster is underneath the water (wait till you see the monster) its like tremors on ice, but yet i watched and enjoyed it in its own terrible way, the ending is so bad you have to watch just to facepalm in delight

    Hypothermia-2011
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1313244/

    Imbred -2011

Terrible rob zombie house of 1000 corpses british rip off about imbred cannibals but i actually made it through the whole thing, thats my boy with adam sandler i did not that night

and i swear to christ the main bad guys son looks exactly like Ryan Lever, and that isnt me being cruel swear to christ just watch and see, if Lever had a brother its got to be him(not being a prick i swear)

it takes awhile to get gory, but my god when it does its fucking sick

all terrible shit, but if you get bored like i do, its still all better than THSS

I cannot give a full review because I have a bunch of tax returns to review....but, I saw We Need to Talk About Kevin with Tilda Swinton the other night. It was fantastic! She is always awesome. It is the story of a mother whose son commits a Columbine-type assault at his school, and what her life is like after that. It made me really, really glad I decided not to have kids. With my luck, my kid would be a killer.

"The Sessions" with Helen Hunt. Jay Thomas recommended it; an indie film and very good, based on a true story. Hunt plays a sex surrogate and is naked for at least half the movie. She's really held up, too. I had to IMDB her when I got home, and she's 49. Time flies.

My husband LOVES bad horror movies, and after 21 years of marriage I have grown to like them as well. He has mentioned The Victim to me. I'll have to ask him about Vile and Hypothermia. Are they in Netlix' instant queue? Also, last night we watched Excision with Annalynne McCord and Tracy Lords. Very low budget, but if you like horror it's worth a watch.

I have heard it was very good, and they are both probably going to be nominated for Academy Awards for their performances, but the subject matter doesn't really interest me. I'll watch it, though, when it comes out on DVD.

That's awesome, I do the same thing. There's no better comedy than a B-movie. Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to check a few of those out.

I am a bit fidgety and I'm always getting up during movies, much to my husband's chagrin. For We Need to Talk About Kevin, I didn't move. It was that good. I love John C Reilly, and he was great in Magnolia and this movie. However, every time I see him now I think of Dr. Steve Brule.

I'll have to ask him. If it's good 'bad' horror, chances are we've seen it.

Thanks. I have loved redlettermedia ever since the Star Wars prequals

My friend who loved the cloud atlas book liked the movie but said he couldn't recommend it because his girlfriend had no clue what the hell was going on with it

i've been watching horror/suspense movies mostly on netflix lately. they have all been pretty terrible except for ATM, which was pretty entertaining. not saying it was mindblowing or even original, but worth watching if you're not in an intellectual mood.

also watched "the mask maker" which was so fucking bad it made me laugh. it had some of the worst dialogue i've ever seen. laughably bad is more entertaining than just bad and boring, so i give it a 3/10.

the caller was another horror film. it seemed like it had promise (for my low standards) but it was pretty disappointing.

seems like hollywood has run out of ideas for scary movies.

also watched margin call. apparently this movie was oscar nominated? maybe it's just me who has a hard time calling a movie about stock prices and whatnot thrilling.

"megan is missing" is just horrible. horrible. horrible.
