A train leaving every night..
we have a very wealthy and very famous client who proved the old addage that horse racing is an excellent way to turn a large fortune into a small fortune.
The day you give your heart to Jesus, He will set you free.
In a way, they are both...sad to the conditions under which they were created, yet they endure long after the people who ordered them built and those who built them are forgotten. Great picture...the dichotomy of life, unordered and vibrant, all around the attempt to contain and control it!

worldy rich is not needing any income to be rich![]()

Its never enough. When I graduated college, I always told my self if I could make "x" that is all I would need. When I made "x", I thought if I could only make "this", I would be set. This day in age $300k a year, with kids, a couple of luxury cars, a $5000/month mortgage, country club membership, etc. Doesn't go very far.
The more you make, the more you spend. At least that's been my experience.![]()
EXACTLY! There is no end to this shit! There is a great story called "How Much Land Does a Man Need?" by one of the Russians where this poor bastard literally runs hinself to death trying to claim all the land he can in a day.
The problem is you can never outrun the desire.

Dunno 'bout a dollar figure, but for me, Rich would be never having to worry about paying any bill, any time.
THAT'S rich!
"I wasn't born with enough middle fingers"
My brother said "Rich is when you can just write a check for whatever happens" Not bad!

300K a year doesn't even come close to rich, IMO
but 300K a week does
Ok, my definition:
Many years ago, I was very critically injured. I was operated on and it was very close apparently. I was twelve. My Father told the story of himself going into a bathroom at West Jeff Hospital and saying "God, if you'll just let my boy live, I won't ask for anything else ever."
He wasn't a praying man and he was not really all that virtuous, but I lived and to my knowledge, he never asked for nything else. and he died hard and slow, too.
30 years later and my daughter is born very, very premature - 2 lbs. 5 oz. The doctors are all telling me the various ways she might be fucked up, blindness, deafness, disabilities, how she might die...how my wife might die, due to the toxemia that had led to the whole thing.
It was all very unreal. They were describing things that didn't exist two hours ago when my wife just 'didn't feel very good'. So I went in to a bathroom at the hospital and offered the same deal, although I wasn't really in a strong dealing position. I was my Father, the same unvirtuous person asking for a little consideration.
And both of them are fine now and I intend to keep my end of the deal, even if I have to die slow and hard too, when it comes my time. A deal is a deal. And I'm quite rich, by my estimation.
