Here's to five miserable months on the wagon.
I saw it tonight. Good popcorn movie
A train leaving every night..
Not just no, but fuck no.
It was fun, and certainly a step-up from the crap that was QoS, but I still can't help but be disappointed. With all the great reviews, I guess I got my hopes up that Skyfall could perhaps be on the level of Casino Royale, and that is simply not the case. The pacing simply wasn't very good and the character development that Casino Royale nailed was lacking in Skyfall. Don't even get me started on the lackluster Bond girl (character, not looks) in Skyfall. Also, there were just far too many cheesy moments for my taste. In the end, Skyfall is just a good Bond movie, and while there is nothing wrong with that, it's certainly nothing special.
Saw it tonight. I was admittedly a bit drunk when viewing, but I was very disappointed. Bored me to tears.
I saw it. It was great the villain guy was the best villain since the old days.
Agree to disagree, my friend.
Like I said, I loved the cinematography...it was superior to a lot of Bond films.
The women are always hollow, but they did develop a great character in this one.
They also developed Q more so than they ever have.
I think that "Casino Royale" intended to set up the stage for the audience to get to know this James Bond, therefore Mendez didn't have to do that. It was already done for him.
....and sorry, Javier Bardem was an amazing villain.
"In nonsense is strength."
Ralph Fiennes will be a great M.
Q was ok but James Bond needs cool gadgets.
Seeing the old Aston again was cool.
Wint and Kidd from "Diamonds are Forever" are my favorite bond villains. Bardem was just as odd and nuanced as they were.
I'm in love with the new Q.
Though I do agree with you on the gadget thing. I think they'll bring back the gadgets in the next one once the new Quartermaster gets "adjusted".
...and yes, Ralph Fiennes will be an awesome M.

I saw it yesterday and give it a solid 3.5/4. Had all the right elements of a Bond movie. The villian was top notch. When the movie was over I realized I was in the theatre for well over 2 hours and it sure didn't seem like it. Nothing dragged on like things do in most movies.

and a prefer the original casino royale
I saw it today and I loved it. I have really enjoyed all of them, with Daniel Craig...AND the Adele theme song kicked ass. I have a newfound respect for Adele.
Saw it in Imax, thought it was great with some nice touches here and there to acknowledge the 50 year anniversary of the movie franchise. Overall, just a good story that added to what we knew about Bond and M and some really good performances, especially from Judi Dench, in a series that historically has been light on acting.
It was a fun movie. I mean it is a Bond movie-they are meant to be fun and escapist moviegoing. I think Craig does well as Bond-more the hardened killer than the other Bond actors.

I agree....there's one scene in "Quantum of Solice" where he's looking at himself in the mirror, shirtless and he has all these scars and cuts all over his chest....like a road map. In the new one, I notice that they never hide his wrinkles or the bags under his eyes. If a real human being had been put through the wringer like Bond had been, then he wouldn't look like some East Coast Nancyboy Prep.![]()
