You should just leave your door unlocked and the keys in your car if you live in Utopia. I used to live in one of the safest places in the USA. I really did leave my doors unlocked. My dad was robbed three times at his business.

So locking your door at night is akin to owning 30 guns?

So far it's proven to be a very sound investment. A lot of the guns I own have doubled and tripled in price since I've owned them.

It doesn't really matter as they're not for sale.

The prize in the collection is a Colt 1911 "Ace" which is chambered in .22 LR with a four digit serial #.

I turned down 5 grand on that gun.

Where in your quote or mine was 30 guns mentioned? You're trying to paint the picture that people who own and carry guns live in fear of their lives. Name a criminal activity that doesn't have the potential to turn into a capital crime. Do I have to explain everything to you?? Also, who said you need to fear for your life to carry a firearm?

Bill Dance gives this thread 4/5 stars so far. There is potential for a 5th star.

This is where it usually turns into agree to disagree for me with gun people.

K, so I wholeheartedly reject the idea of killing someone to protect property. I could never and I mean NEVER shoot someone cuz they were trying to take my car. I know -- I'm a pussy or I'm full of shit and blah blah, but it's true. Even if I had guns, I don't, I ain't shooting somebody for punching in my back door. Nothing I own is more valuable than a life -- fuck that bleeding heart shit -- I couldn't live with killing someone to prevent them from taking my TV. Even if a worthless criminal. It would haunt me. Don't want.

Which brings me to why a person with my beliefs would own a gun. To protect my life. I have never felt threatened such that I needed one. Oh, I've been in scary situations -- shitty driving friends, I skydive, that kinda shit -- but a walking down the street "omg kill or be killed?" -- nope.

So, I guess I've actually ascribed my beliefs onto y'alls behavior. You guys are willing to kill someone for your TV, so owning a gun isn't a kill or be killed sorta thing.

The idea originated as a .22 cal trainer built on the .45 frame. What makes mine unique is it's a fully decked out civilian model manufactured during the heighth of the great depression.
