“The voters have spoken and we have to respect their will,” Hickenlooper said onAmendment 64. “This will be a complicated process, but we intend to follow through. That said, federal law still says marijuana is an illegal drug so don’t break out the Cheetos or gold fish too quickly.

I've never been a real big smoker...always liked alcohol much more...especially for being social. But I used to like smoking at night sometimes at home to relax and wind down. Haven't bothered with it much over recent years because it's a headache to keep a connection with druggie friends I no longer hang with or keep a relationship with a dealer. Not to mention potential issues with police. But how cool will it be when we can walk into a shop and choose from brownies, cakes, cookies, candies...all laced with marijuana. Or choose from many different strains with all different highs and get exactly what we want. This is a huge deal that will get the ball rolling for country wide legalization. I approve of this message.

We are on our way to seeing the prohibition of marijuana coming to an end. I am thrilled!
We will not be used as an instrument of ridicule. We will not be made fun of. We are simply going to be here, be proud, be large, and enjoy what we feel is our right to food.

It's about time it passed in some state.

California will have legalization on the ballot again soon.

    Singers smoke it
    And players of instruments too
    Legalize it, yeah, yeah
That's the best thing you can do
    Doctors smoke it
    Nurses smoke it
    Judges smoke it
    Even the lawyers too

Legalize it - don't criticize it
Legalize it and I will advertise it

I live in Eastern Washington. It's going to be interesting to see how this unfolds. My husband drug tests his employees. We just privatized liquor in June so it's available at grocery stores rather than state-run stores. Now what, vodka and a blunt gift package at Costco?

AGREE. I used to smoke when I was a teen and in my early twenties. Haven't touched the stuff in almost 20 years but I support its legalization. I'm very happy about this. The ball has indeed begun to roll on this one.

Same-sex marriage was legalized in a couple of more states as well last night.

Society is loosening up. I like it.

    Sounds good to me.

I buy almost everything from Costco already: Booze, beer, food, tires, televisions, books, drugs, gas, clothes etc. Adding pot to their stores would be great.

The level of anger and jealousy I have for you right now, might just cause me to finally go super saiyan. I still have to buy mine illegally from shifty eyed vagrants.
