Will Sirius fail without the HSS

Howard swears by it...what does everything think?

I would be upset if Howard had the gratitude of seeing it actually fail after he leaves.

20,000,000 listeners gone if Wiggy is not there. Fact.

I'll keep my subscription as I listen to the music channels a lot.
My name was supposed to be French fries with mayo but I was drunk when I signed up.

You can also just call me "Dick".

I don't think it will fail. If you bought if for Howard (like my family did), you got used to finding other things to listen to on Sirius
when Howard wasn't there--which ended up being a LOT of the time!

So, chances are, a lot of Howard's audience actually liked the other Sirius programs they found enough to justify paying for
the service, regardless of Howard's presence--IF you can get a good deal on the continuing subscripton price, like we usually do.

I'll keep my subscription as long as I can still get it for around $5 per month. Their price point is way out of line for what they offer - too many reruns on all the channels, they should have more live shows at night and on weekends. Couldn't care less if Howard leaves, Jay Thomas is by far my favorite show. I wouldn't pay a cent to hear Howard on another pay service.

it will do fine without him. lord knows if they needed to they could scrounge up some other has been unfunny asshole to give a radio show to but i think a great number of listeners wont even know or care when howig goes cause they ignore his dumb ass now.

I have 4 radios plus 2 phone apps. I will ditch them when he leaves. I hate the fucking equipment and whenit shuts off every 45 minutes or loses signal every 2 hours. Then there is the "you are signed in elsewhere" shut off. my husband and I listen all the time and we each get that fucking message all day.I listen to all podcasts on that tune in radio app.

They could hire 80 Bubba The Love Sponges a year in comparison.

Of the 250k listeners Howard has (my unscientific high water guess) how many are left when you subtract the people who have lifetime subscriptions, reduced rate/months free, listen via pirate or torrent etc? It can't leave anything of significance to Sirius’ bottom line anymore.

Especially 3 years from now when Howard won't have any listeners left are 3 more years of shit shows like he did this week.

It will fail with or without him. Paying for bland repetitive playlists with mediocre sound quality, talk radio shows that are available on regular radio in major markets and on podcasts anywhere, and tiny niche channels using satellites is obsolete. If they survive it would be as a clearinghouse for internet radio programs/podcasting. But I find that unlikely due to the debt they have.

I can download 8 hours of talk radio, financial analysis, etc. in a few minutes onto a phone, stream it to my car or listen with headphones or through a stereo. I don't dig new music enough to care about that on Sirius. News you can get over regular radio or via the web. I just don't see the need for Sirius other than Stern.

Yes, it will fail. If Howard leaves I will quit listening for free on the internet.

See, I'm not sure about that. Internet doesn't have the same coverage. The beauty of Sirius is that there's reception everywhere.

Except when you are in your car driving through a tunnel or there's a cloud in the sky... when I had Sirius in my car (the first few years Howard was there) the reception was harrable.

It would have before, but now not so much... I mean who's actually signing up fresh and new for the current state of the show? It's clear Howard cares more about the money games behind the scenes than a quality product.
