My ass hurts in those seats after a two hour movie. I'd need a transplant after that marathon. I'd maybe watch the Two Towers. Helm's Deep would be awesome as hell to see the extended version in the theater.

That being said, I'm not going.

A lot of the extended running time was a super long credits scroll.

One of the best movie theatre experiences I ever had was seeing The Fellowship Of The Ring on opening night in a packed theatre full of fellow Tolkien geeks. I went by myself

and wound up in a conversation with some other people in my row about the exclusion of Tom Bombadil in the movie

Absolutely not, you are locked in for the entire duration of all 3 movies. No piss breaks, food, nothing.

I would love to see this again on the big screen but I have the extended version box set. It's a rainy weekend thing for us...but we have to take multiple breaks so I would never survive all three, back to back in a movie theater.
