He always was, Mr. Doyers. He is voting with his pocketbook. However, publicly he doesn't want to piss off his new "friends". I wonder how many Hollywood types are doing the same. That is why I give Clint Eastwood props. Whether you agree with his politics or not, he has big balls coming forward as a Romney supporter, and a vocal one at that. Same with Kid Rock.

Kid Rock doesn't have big balls for coming out in support Romney - people already know he's an asshole.

Asshole or not - and I would argue there are shitloads of assholes in Hollywood and in the music industry - it takes big balls to go against the status quo. And the status quo in the music industry is that they are typically very liberal, and you can fuck with your income by taking a stand. It's easy for Katy Perry to put on a ballot dress with the Barack Obama column checked for she will have support of her peers. She's dumb as dogshit anyway.

i worked with a lot of liberal voting folks. i kept my political feelings to myself. i know not to put bumper stickers on my car that say anything remotely conservative and i know not to say conservative things in a room full of folks who think bush was a nazi.

i would smile and say i was voting for clinton or obama and then vote for anybodyelse.

    Right.

Unlike most liberal posters here, I actually interact with working-class blacks every single day... and I "support obama" just to make things easier.

Funny, but I heard an African American woman call up some conservative radio show several months ago, maybe Hannity. She was from the Chicago area. She said that she and all her friends were voting for Romney, but they tell everyone, including pollsters, that they are voting for Obama so they don't get branded as traitors or Uncle Toms.

The black Republican token called in, eh?

The fact is, 95% plus of the blacks who vote are voting Obama. A black friend of mine is a big-time Republican. It's pretty funny because he's a real brother, not even an oreo-type black. He and his black buddies argue politics all the time. He's definitely in a very small minority amongst blacks.

Though none of them call him a Tom. They know better, not because he'll hurt them or whatever. He's just not a "nosir, yessir" kinda guy.

Funny aside, his mother's house was getting some work and the contractor was a black African guy. The black African was fucking up pretty bad and my buddy had me come with him to check things out. "Keep me calm", he said to me. The contractor was there and my buddy and he got into a bit of an argument. The black African contractor at one point got so incensed he told my buddy, "I come from royalty in Africa!" How that was relevant, I still don't know. Anyway, my buddy retorted with, "oh yeah? Well I'm the fuckin' king o' dis motherfuckin' street, motherfucker. And this ain't Africa, prince."

    Fucking cracked me up.

Well, from what I recall of the conversation, she was a Democrat, always voted Democrat, and was a big Hilary supporter. She begrudgingly voted for Obama in 2008 and has been very disappointed ever since. And your friend sounds like a pisser. He has to have some steely backbone to be an out and proud black Republican.

He's a bro from a hood in Atlanta. Yeah, and he's a pisser. I think half the reason he votes Republican is to be contrary.

    It's an "entertainment" channel.
So it's scripted callers, just like THSS.
    Howard: "The show(AGT) will grow". - 6:50am 5/16/12
Howard: "NBC is Happy!" "100Million will watch". 7:35am 5/21/12
