He also can recite it in perfect Arabic. How many American presidents in history could do that? It doesn't make him a Muslim, but it definitely indicates a "foreign" mindset". This is unsurprising, as he never lived an "american" life in any traditional sense during his formative years. He was always either overseas or cloistered with people who either rejected it or lived in a bubble of extreme wealth.

You're completely indoctrinated, those are all Fox news bullshit propaganda talking points. Obama says a few words in Aribic to a Saudi King and for you that means he speaks the entire language perfectly and that means he is undermining our country. You better hide under your bed. I suppose because Bush spoke spanish that means he has a hispanic mindset and was trying to turn us into Mexico. "You didn't build that", you didn't bother to check context on that huh? You just heard the edited clip on Fox, right ? I'm not going to waste time refuting everyone of your silly points, you're either ignorant or you know better and are just a liar.

    1. I don't watch Fox News.
    2. I don't know anything about him speaking Arabic to a Saudi King.
    3. I never stated he speaks the language perfectly. He merely learned prayers as a child in Indonesia. That (growing up overseas and studying Islam to the extent you learn prayers) therefore is a relatively FOREIGN concept compared to 99% of our population.
    4. Speaking Arabic does not mean anyone undermines our country. Plenty of Arabic speakers support our way of life and are damn glad to be here instead of there. Plenty of Arabic speakers for whom it's a second language also support the US status quo. They interpret the intercepted messages from terrorists, for example.
    5. I heard everything surrounding the "you didn't build that" comments. He's saying that because government provides infrastructure, and workers provide labor, you didn't do it alone. I'll even add that government also provides a system of courts to enforce property rights, which is the foundation of a strong economy. Third world nations are renowned for corruption and the inability to protect one's property. That is why nobody invests there and they remain poor.

So, in isolation, I think his comment is fairly accurate. However, in the context of his decades of socialistic writing, associations, and recent speeches, (using this sort of talk to raise taxes on and scapegoat a conveniently small group of people), yeah, I think he wants to use statements like that to take capitalism down a notch and discredit it with the populace.
    6. I note you refuted exactly ZERO of my 11 points. I realize you are too busy to do the research and reading necessary to understand them. Which was pretty much my point, wasn't it?

You can stomp your feet and rage all you want, that doesn't change the facts. So, keep silly stuff and I'll keep publicly embarrassing you with facts. Don't want to do it, but I feel I OWE it to you.

Though Scott's comments were dumb if they happened like you stated, but your(OP) comment may be equally as ignorant. We are not 8 years behind, Bush didn't make it illegal he just didn't approve funding for embryonic stem cells (yes very stupid). This means many colleges were still studying embryonic stem cells they just couldn't use federal funding. Now lets use our brains....lets say we want 1 million dollars from the feds for non embryonic stem cell research and we need another 1 million to study embryonic stem cells....simply put you just ask for 2 million for non embryonic stem cells. Pretty much you still get the same amount of federal funding but you move the money around differently.

    3. It is a straw man argument if Ving thinks I feel otherwise.
    4. I disagreed with Bush's conduct of the war in Iraq, and later, Afghanistan.
    5. All that said, a President allying with a Muslim nation for geopolitical expediency isn't exactly the same as supporting the rabidly anti-US Muslim Brotherhood in Eqypt and providing air cover and fire support for Libyan rebels known to include Al Qaeda, now is it?
    6. It's ignoble to support someone and ignore their faults, even denying them, just because you find the alternative less agreeable to your politics. By falling into the "our team vs their team" trap, one falls right into the hands of the oligarchy of politicians who ensure nothing substantial ever changes for the better.

Sorry if this isn't as pithy as a photo.

I always found it interesting that we donate and the government gives funds for health (and other) research. Then when it comes time to sell the results of that research to patients, they never pay back the donations and grants from the profits. When you donate to cure cancer, for example, you are paying the $250,000 salary of a researcher. If he's so passionate about curing cancer, why won't he do it for $75,000? Most of the people donating don't even make that. I don't have a solution, but it is , like many things, something of a racket. I knew someone who worked for the American Heart Association. She spent most of her day using AOL and planning office parties. She said nobody did shit there.

My wife was recently prescribed a drug. $1200 for a month supply. And it's not for some rare disease either. I wonder if they'll credit us for the tax money and donations we've made to their company?

Excuse me. I said: " George Stoopid Bush banned federally funded research" . I didn't say illegal. I do believe that in so doing he set us back severely and undermined the US in the scientific community. And for no real reason other than his out religiosity told him to. Saying they "just couldn't use federal funding" is what is "ignorant" in your words. Uhh yah no big deal... It had the effect of quashing major research in THIS country. OUR country. You know, the greatest, most advanced, most powerful in the world? The one where we used to attract the best minds and thinkers and movers and shakers to come to? So if you are a brilliant scientist trying to cure, I don't know, Parkinson's disease with stem cells you were out of LUCK here. You're a pompous idiot.

Oh and by the way, I don't see this as an issue that is party line driven. I see it as religious nut job driven. I think if anyone has seen a loved one suffer with a disease like diabetes, Parkinson's, Alzheimers, neuro disorders etc that stem cells offer hope to, if that person's loved one could be cured with stem cells or have some of their symptoms ameliorated they'd be the first ones demanding it.

    Google is hard to use!

"A team of Korean researchers reported on November 25, 2003, that they had transplanted multipotent adult stem cells from umbilical cord blood to a patient suffering from a spinal cord injury and that following the procedure, she could walk on her own, without difficulty. The patient had not been able to stand up for roughly 19 years."

And many other diseases and various ailments researchers are close to curing with stem cells. But the child molesting Christians think its bad.

"Good Buddy"? Obama was on the same board of an educational institution with Ayers, that's all. Nothing but lame hyperbole.

You have zero facts it's all propaganda, not one truth in your 11 Fox news talking points. Now you're doing a complete backpedal on what you said or insinuated. When called out on what you said you changed your position, no surprise, it's exactly from the Romney playbook. Like FEMA, you were probably for turning that over to the states and now you're not. So you're not ignorant, you're just a liar not interested in any real truth.

I bet you never had a problem with Bush being on the Enron jet. Why don't you show me a post where you flipped out on a republican, saying something as extreme as the person hates the American way of life?

Why didn't Bush have that evil scary "foreign mindset" from his deep study of the Spanish language ?

I like how you can judge what "Perfect Arabic" would sound like, because you came up with that on your own, Fox free. You're a joke.

The guy you say is taking capitalism down a notch has seen the stock market rise over 100% on his watch in under 4 years. That makes perfect sense. Wait don't tell me, the stock market has pattern of screaming up when capitalism is being thwarted.

Having rich people pay a little more, a few percent is taking capitalism down a notch ? You want it all for free huh ? A trillion dollars spent on wars and you want to vote for the party who all committed to Grover Norquist that they will never ever under any circumstances raise an extra dime in tax revenue. You don't deserve to live here, you're an ungrateful cheapskate.
