I'm quite serious, I have no idea what you're talking about. A defense attorney can't prevent a fair or reasonable prosecution. The prosecution has unlimited resources, police and investigators on the payroll and always have the advantage.

I was on a jury of a guy that was banging his 14 year old step daughter.

The public defender knew we were not buying there bullshit and made a wild closing speech calling the child a hot piece of ass among other things.

It's an interesting system, to be sure. Sigh ... who really knows. I remember hearing a story, after the (infamous) OJ Simpson trial ... someone went up to Johnny Cochran and was just SCREAMING, YELLING at him about the trial .... and he (J. Cochran) listened to everything she had to say, didn't interrupt, and when she was done, he said, "The jury found him not guilty."

I think that's about the best response I've ever heard! I mean, what else is there to say ... J. Cochran didn't make the rules. He just put forth the defense. The jury agreed, and .... so be it.

Another great thing I read was from the lawyers for the parents of JonBenet Ramsey ... he said, "If you're guilty, get a lawyer. If you're innocent, you damn well better get a lawyer. There's no difference."
