I enjoy photography. I'm a novice in every sense of the word and have been meaning to take some classes.
I got a nice digital SLR, mainly to get good photos of my work for my portfolio, but also to mess around with recreationally. I shoot in manual whenever I can. I'd love to be able to use it better.

Anyway here are some pics I took, experimenting with aperture, exposure, etc. I tend to gravitate toward close-ups.

I took these pics for my etsy store. It's a pair of antique earrings. I liked the way the colors are reflected on the surface...

I don't care for the composition on this one. I wanted a juxtaposition of foreground and background elements, but I don't like how the tree cuts right through the middle of the photo. It's disruptive.



...I cropped it so the tree is off to the side, which I like. But then you lose the expanse of the water and those lines. I probably should have just taken the photo from a different vantage point.
