    Not anymore. Goaty recommended these in the running thread a while back and picked them up for me with my Christmas money from his folks (Almost 50 bucks including tax at the Running Room)
    Yaktracks I think they are called. Total control of footing in these.

    You just open up the camera app like you normally would and just click on the volume as if you're snapping a picture. Depends on the iOS you have on the iphone. I'm not sure when if they introduced this on the iphone 4s or on the 4.. it should work tho.
