her conclusions are based upon assumptions. she says as much: she assumes removing the hair causes micro-lesions which allow bacteria which live on the skin into the blood stream. STD bacteria do not live on the skin, and would die quickly if exposed to air. if staph were a common STD she might have a point, but it isn't. the only STD that has to (it is too weak to get in any other way) enter the body through lesions is HIV. syph, gonorrhea, and the other common STDs are able to get inside without help and are probably a bit too large to get in though a hair follicle (HIV is a virus and a lot smaller than a bacterium).
that doc is making press because her statement polarizes the issue, not because it's technically correct.
