I just imagine the eye contact going on as this person is approaching from 20 feet away, trying to get a look at the sign because they aren't sure who it is.....

James Hong was at Comic-Con. My favorite scene of his was Seinfeld-The Chinese Restaurant. James Hong is 83 and has been working steady since 1955. If you look at his work on IMBD it is astonishing. He was also Tia Carrera's father in Wayne's World.

He was great on Malcolm in the Middle....And was once again a cocky Chinese restaurant owner on "Big Bang".....

When Artie crashed and burned, he seemed to have almost the entire comedy community there to help, genuinely concerned for his well-being.

When Jackie put the gun in his mouth, it didn't seem like there was anybody there to stop him or help him afterwards. If anything, Nanci probably egged him on, then took off with half his shacks and loot.

I chalk that up to not only the talent disparity but also the character disparity. Jackie's a dick, and he wouldn't have found himself in this position if he wasn't. Never mind comedy...............don't you make friends in all walks of life along the way? Somebody, somewhere couldn't have gotten him some kind of half-assed civilian job?

At this point, any job this side of fast food or bottom-feeding retail would be a major step up on the dignity ladder.

The Rodney Dangerfield appearence said it all....Rodney was ALWAYS helping out comedians....Jokeman must have really shit the bed to get Dangerfield to treat him like a leper........

I went to one of these shows back in 97 or 98 to see Adam West, I waited on line for an hour to meet him. Frank Gorshan (the Riddler) was there too and like Jackie nobody wanted his autograph. So I went over and got one from him he was so happy he kept me at his stand for 1/2 hour telling me old Hollywood stories. He even invited me and my then girlfriend to the hotel bar to have drinks with him. I didn't take him up on the offer because Adam West kept hitting on my GF.

great comments by all....It says a LOT that people like Jackie and Stuttering John left the security of the show. Each time they did I did think they were selfish and dumb to leave. Maybe they were, but maybe they just couldn't take it.

It's telling who stayed with the show....Gary, Robin, and Fred. Nothing personal to Robin and Fred, but they hit easy street and knew enough to hang on for the ride. Somewhere along the way Gary forgot he was a bit and even more astonishingly was able to convince others he should be taken seriously instead of as a sleeping monkey in a producers suit.

It's also telling that Howard (and Robin who really resents Jackie probably because he never put up with her shit...and I like Robin) absolutely refused to have him back, even after he humbled himself. Fuck the show, fuck the audience, fuck that Jackie's down on his luck, Howard and Robin had to make sure the humiliation and downfall of Jackie was complete. No compromise.

When Jackie left, Howard and Robin won and we the audience lost. It's never been the same since.

Hamptons runs that show like a mafia don............

...the zig zag stations looks like the check out line at frys electronics. whats also funny is jackies looking like he heavily occupied with something hes reading or writing. maybe hes checking in on his investments or writing some news jokes. kind of reminds me of a defendant sitting at their table in court. like oj always pretending he was reading or writing something. jackie knows all the insider tricks.
