Yes! congrats Dom! I got my license at 16.....but didn't start driving til 21. I lived right outside of Boston and used public transportation to get where I needed.....and my best friend drove and I just had to pay for gas.

One night she said she would not be picking me up as it WAS TIME. I learned on a Plymouth Fury (?)....it was like an ocean liner on wheels.....navigating that through the Tobin Bridge was harrowing.....and the choke used to stick.....I'd have to get out of the car to fix it in a suit or dress daily! It was interesting to say the least....

Am I the only one imagining DL's best friend picking her up and shoving her into a car?

    No, NO!!!!!

We were hot chicks! We were! This was the 80s.....it was clubs 4 to 5 nights a WEEK! A specific club for a specific night! We were dressed in the elegant fashion style of the 80s! There was no throwing in cars....

....and 6 of us rented a chalet in No. Conway every season.....so the 6 of us would pile into the car with all our ski gear.....

and we used to meet people in traffic! we did! One of my friends ended up dating the hot toll booth guy....

    Oh....we had fun....we did!

I guess they are typically 10 pounds.....this lil man is a chunk at 12.5.

    WHAT A BEAUTY!!!!!

I will be relieved when the flight is booked. I wonder if I have to buy a seat for the pup? It's an hour and 37 min....I wonder if he will be able to fly in the carrier under my feet. He is NOT going into cargo....or whereever they designate animals to fly.

You should call your airlines to confirm but they will allow animals that fit into cabin kennels designed to fit under the seat. The puppy will be small enough for that.

You may need some health paperwork as well.

I hope they let you carry it on. In cargo unless it's recently been changed, it's heated enough to keep them warm but it's not pressurized.

I also got my license at 16, and started driving when I was 10.
My grandmother lived at the lake and we had make the 87 mile drive every weekend so we could take her grocery shopping etc. Now when we arrived there by highway, it was a 7 mile drive on a gravel road on private land. Dad would let me drive the 7 miles from the highway to grandmas. You think a Fury is big?
I learned in a 1963 Olds 98! Damn thing was long as a whore's dream!

Typical male! I'll probably catch hell for saying this, but IN MY EXPERIENCE ONLY, driving just seems to come naturally to men.....and your dad sounds like he was a hoot! Must be a great memory.

(I'd be willing to bet; however, that my fury beat your olds in girth )

Just got good news from Jet Blue.....it'll cost $100 for the pup to fly under my feet. The flight is $137 going to Washington Dulles and only $8l for the return to Boston. It will be cheaper and more comfy to just buy him a seat.

UNLESS someone qualified wants to write me a note that I'm a nutcase, and then he'd fly for free as an "Emotional Support Dog"....and no training would be necessary.

I think you have 2,683 pieces of evidence as to why you need an "Emotional Support Dog"

Lets all try to bore MattewT since he is Dawgs Saloon sage of all that is not boring. I had a hellish week at work. A 35,000 dollar kitchen I thought was about done with. Shows back up because the stupid finishing department got fingerprints all over it staining it. I love re sanding stuff that I sent to them scratch and dent free. On the bright side I got my 40 hours in for the week already and I don't have to come in tomorrow if I don't want to.

I also like the look of hickory after its been stained and re sanded. I might do a piece of furniture for myself with that method.
