It starts with a man travelling on a quad bike down a deserted runway.
But the video capturing his journey quickly takes a hair-raising turn.

A plane emerges in the distance and accelerates towards the rider, coming only metres from him and even closer to the camerawoman.

Reminiscent of the Hitchcock classic North by Northwest, the YouTube video delivers on its promise to show viewers "What it looks like to have a plane fly within 2 feet of you at 200mph."

The speedy bi-plane is seen turning on its side before it catapults towards the camera, missing the camerawoman by less than a metre and leaving a trail of smoke in its wake.

Shortly afterward it is seen circling the sky once more.
