Made it to the gym today thread.

If you made it to the gym today please post some workout details and maybe spread some rep for motivation.

At least for me, actually making it to the gym is the hardest part of the workout.

    today;

    45 minute spin class

4 sets of semi wide pullups 9,6,9,8

I don't exercise in a gym, but I think this thread is a great idea.

I need the variety that a gym provides to keep me motivated and fit year round so that no matter if i get injured or just over trained i can simply shift to something new and maintain and build.

It sounds like you basically do the gym both with and without the gym so please participate and post some details!

I am addicted to Expresso bikes. http://www.expresso.net/UserPortal/welcome.do

Stationary virtual reality bikes. There are tons of different courses to ride which can help hold your interest but the best thing is you make an account and log in each time you ride. You can challenge other people or ride against your ghost which is your own best time. It's great for me because I hate mundane exercise but this motivates me to always push a little harder.

You can also have your rides automatically post to facebook and twitter but then you stand to take abuse from your friends.

No. They have 4 of them at my gym. One of the only things that gets me there on a regular basis. I hate lifting weights and treadmills.

Not quite the gym but did about 5.5 miles snowshoeing in the Sierras today. It's more difficult than hiking because you're breaking a trail meaning you're making one through about 3 feet of powder. It's extreme but the views and exercise are well worth it.

Nice I wish they had one of those at my gym, just spin and recumbent bikes at my place.

I hear your gym treats little people with respect.

I think it was Splash who asked me if I'm a little person the other day.

I need a gym. However, I'm use to the comfort at home of loud music and going shirtless. lol I even gave up the comfort of indoors to the hard floors of outside for that old-school feel.

I try to focus on consistency ........Lately I'm on a 3 day rotation.....run/lift/yoga.....each one compliments the other

I don't run 10 miles, I probably could build up to that, but then I'd get sick of it...LOL. So I keep it @ 3 for now

When I lift I try to get a good workout squats, incline bench, military press and other assorted things mixed in as supersets. I used to lift for over an hour every other day...Again, i got sick of it...now I probably lift 2 to 3 times a week...get it done in a half hour to 45 minutes...been doing that steady for years

Yoga, is the thing I really enjoy in my old age. When no one is around, I blast some music, kill the lights and do a 40 minute routine. Non-impact, great for stretching, good for your head....It works out all of the kinks from the other workouts(lifting/running)

I'm a believer in lifestyle.....if I had to make it to a gym to workout, I'd eventually quit...that's just how I am

Also, if given the choice of an elevator or stairs, I take the stairs....Our culture is odd, we seem to have developed an aversion to anything physical...we pay one guy to mow our lawn, then pay another guy to let us workout in his gym...LOL. seems crazy to me. The yard work is good for you.

I'm rambling, I'm a freak, but it works for me...and you asked

    best of luck

For me it comes down to the complete lack of smoking hot girls in stretch pants bouncing and jiggling in my yard.
