Noob to this thread....never knew it existed. Started mountain biking to stay in shape for motorcycle racing. In the last year I've pretty much quit racing dirt bikes ans mountain bike exclusively.
Pic above is a local trail by my house...smack dab in the middle of suburbia. Been using the Strava app and it's pretty cool....I rode 41 miles last week but ended up jacking up my lower back. On Saturday I had to do a 7-8 mile climb....some sections wer ereallllllly steep.Doesn't look like I'll be on the bike much in the near future.
New to this thread, like it a ton. I did about 3,000 miles this year. Work travel was a bear, I had to spend about 1/2 my time on projects in El Paso, so I shipped my 'cross bike out there and did probably 1,000 on the Rio Grande levee and the countless miles of irrigation channels throughtout El Paso, TX and parts of New Mexico, the other 2,000 were in and around Houston. I ride alot at night, see more interesting stuff and it is the best way to ride in the brutal summers around here.
Getting a new Lynskey Ti R230 with the new Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 this week after months of waiting for it, can't wait.
For those just starting keep at it, I started riding again about 7 years ago afte many, many years off, best stree relief ever.
mountain biking in NY/NJ...Lewis Morris, Six Mile, Jungle Habitat.
Hank to Beetle "who wrote the Gettysburg address"
