Rick's ShoeHorning Political Agenda and Poor Show Running Skills

Rick's constant usage of buzzwords like Liberal, Conservative, Democrat etc is killing it for me. It's like he's letting Hannity's boss know that Rick is ready for the team. I really dig podcasts, I ride a bus 3 hrs. a day, and welcomed hearing Artie again but this Rick... Outta nowhere he shoehorns comments like "typical liberal caller" Dumping callers right when they get interesting is f'in annoying as hell too. Artie can do well on radio but he needs a different partner. Rick is mediocre and predictable and one-trick pony-ish. Artie ain't no fan of it either. In Artie's words, This isn't going to end well.

Ugh... What do you want, 3 hrs of sports ? The dynamic of nick and Artie seems to work well when they discuss politics. Nick with his obamacare this and welfare that is typically rebuffed with artie discussing the finer points of broccoli rabe and how on dirty work with norm they loved the free health care in Toronto.

It's basically glen beck vs bob eucker. Pizza with a glass of milk, or Jerry Sandusky touching a female.

2 polar opposites. The disparity between nicks nazi politics and the fact Artie once was in a porn quality promo for a guy running for Hoboken mayor ( which makes him think hes on the forefront of politics ) make it a winner in my book.

Yeah, don't hit the ball into Rick's yard, cos y'aint getting it back..................he's just an old grumpy guy, and he's not half as funny as Artie.

He does seem to be able to shut up and let Artie go off some of the time, but not nearly enough.

I love his mayor Bloomberg, though...................and next to having to listen to Howard, Robin, and the rest of the Stern show disgustarazzi just to hear Artie, having to put up with Nick is a walk in the park.

I actually agree with most of Nick's views, but the way he puts them across is so miserable, it's hard to root for the guy.

I can't even listen because of Rick anymore and I was a fan of him from Howard/O&A. A whole radio show of him is just too much though.

Rick is good when he's just riffing with Arnie, when he has to shoehorn his simplistic FoxNews views of politics it's cringe worthy.

he is pretty dumb trying to explain his train of thought...." the liberal media is crucifying Sandusky, in this country we have the courts."
i like seeing Artie call Nick out on his retarded one-sided views. " I know Artie , i'm just saying" :guntomouth:

wonder if nick would have same view if ocho cinco or a randy moss went on a post super Bowl clubbing spree like Gronkowski after a loss

Great fucking post- you have brilliantly encapsulated my issues with their shows.
Nick DiPaolo dominates the show and Artie just really seems to prefer avoiding being painted into a corner regarding politics.
    Artie's a fucking Springsteen fan -he's a fucking lib-prole at heart.
Di Paolo's major goal in life is a gig at Fox News.

While Rick is certainly right of center, making throwaway comments seems just like shctick. It's also good for starting arguments with Artie.

I'll take those any day over Howard's daily (actually I should fix that 3 day a week aka every show) left wing rants and crowbarring gay marriage into seemingly every topic, as well as Anthony's daily right wing rantings on O&A.

While I probably agree with Rick's views alot more than most the commenters here, I get the idea that he seems to be just kidding around with the political jabs and having fun rather than trying to make a profound point, he just likes playing the grumpy archie bunker type

He has also seemed to have toned down the political talk alot recently which in my opinion is a plus. There are plent of other places to hear political talk

The political shit gets old, but I think it's a good pairing. I enjoy Rick's racist misogynistic rants, no joke.

That doesn't say much about me I guess, but fuck it.

Not that I don't think he really thinks that way, and feels that way, but I get the impression that most of time that's just him doing his act. I mean he's a comic, he's not necessarily meant to be taken at his word. In his personal life he's probably not so over the top and nasty about it. I might disagree with some of his views, I might agree with some...but I don't like the idea of labeling people "liberal" and "conservative", and the idea that I have to align myself with everything on one side and everything on the other side. They just do that because they are the only 2 parties with real power right now, and it's easier to campaign politically by making things black and white like that. But anyone that identifies themselves completely with either one of those parties is a fool.

I didn't really like Nick that much at the outset of the show, but I have grown to like him. I just laugh at him, whether it's him cracking a sharp joke, or just him getting all fired up and agitated. He's just a real funny dude. I remember this one line, they were talking about a pit bull, I don't remember what the context was, but I remember Artie joking "I think the pit bull might find you a little abrasive."

Yes he's a comic but he is meant to be taken at every word. He constantly reminds us that he's a conservative, WGAS what he is as long as he's funny. Dropping loads of obamacare into a conversation, non sequitur, is just not fun or funny. Sounds like a retard who just yells the same thing over and over. I think he does this most when he has nothing. He also has a fake laugh when he knows he has nothing. Some awkward moments there. Been listening since it started and I don't see that going away...

I wouldn't mind it so much if he was informed on the subject. He has a political philosophy, but no political facts. It's cringe-worthy.

Good point... he's embarassingly uninformed...All opinion with no real knowledge of the topic he's harping on.
He's simply regurgitating what he heard on Fox News or read in the New York Post.
