View Full Version : Threads Stay "Unread" - Forum Bug?

A few threads stay marked unread, in bold, no matter how many times I view them. Most others work fine. Maybe just my browser?

One example is http://www.dawgsaloon.com/showthread.php/8806-Over-the-Air-Antenna-(OTA)-question

I (http://www.dawgsaloon.com/showthread.php/8806-Over-the-Air-Antenna-(OTA)-question?p=435216#post435216)t also always takes me to the FIRST page of that thread when I click the little "Go to first new post" arrow icon.

Is this a known bug?

For me, it's random. Some threads are never bold (unread), regardless of if i viewed them or not. Same with forums with unread posts.
Definitely a bug.

I use Chrome.
What is your OS and browser?

Hmm, I've been using Chromium (open source version of Chrome) on Vista. It was all working perfectly on this forum up until today. (I've been here about a week.)

Since moving to Chromium I've noticed its caching and page displaying is different from Mozilla's. Its plugin architecture sucks too. I may end up going back.

On a new PC with just IE and Chrome so far. Will test Firefox and report back.

This problem seemed resolved with the new VBulletin forum upgrade a few days ago -- I could start to trust the "bold" again -- but today it's all fallen apart and the bug is back in full force. Threads to which I am the last poster still show up in bold today.

Maybe it's some kind of maximum counter that's reached?
