Mutt said he had a non-website radio offer that Sabean made that precluded him from selling the SFN site. Apparently the Sabean deal fell through and the rest is history. It had to have been something much bigger than the SFRT.

We do not really know the language in this new deal.
Stern might be getting more days off as this deal progresses.
Next year he could be off for months at a time.....we''ll never know until it happens.

I am thinking the contract is something simple... probably 120 days a year for the next 4 years (40 Xs 3 days/week, I think they are only working two days the 1st week back). I saw you posted something about the extra Thursdays coming from Advertiser pressure, but I really thing it was a fuck-up by 112/team Buchwald on communicating weeks vs. days.

thought I saw some where that the 60 second live reads only cost $3-5K per ad (which he has to share with Sirius?.... he did in last contract)... even if he kept 100% that's only $15-25K per day to have him come in... assuming he makes $200-400K/day on the new contract, that seems like low motivation to come in for an extra day each week... it would be interesting to have an idea what the difference is (if there is one) in the ad revenue he receives between "live" days and "repeat" days

I'm talking out of my ass but i have to believe that when these bulk advertiser deals are made, December is a big deal. Many companies depend on the holiday marbles to survive the entire year.
You tolerate 100 commercials aired during the un-listen-able crap that fills the channels when you get a few more live Howie shows in December.

Howard is the supreme puppet master. He gets pissed off when one of the puppets does something he doesn't approve of. Mutt's been through the wringer several times. Howard was giddy when Mutt shut the site down. He's not going to be happy when the re-launched SFN site comes back-up no matter what Mutt does to appease him. That's the way Howard rolls. There isn't one person on Howard's staff who isn't terrified of him.
