Oh yes and grilling
There are many different ways to prepare foods
There are often benefits or detriments to the specific ways that you prepare foods
Some examples include ease of digestion, activation or destruction of enzymes, release of fats, and breakdown of nutrients
Feel free to post the various foods your eat and the way you prepare them
Share your experiences or knowledge you have obtained on your own or working with a nutritionist or from other sources

I'd like some info on juicing.
What are good fruits/vegetables to use?
What's a good juicer to get? I think I may ask Santa to bring me one.
Bye You!

I can start with this
As far as I know there are 4 types of juicers
Extractors aka Masticating
Centrifugal
Single Gear
Dual Gear aka Triturating
This site lists it as 5 but count 2 types of centrifugal that I really don't consider different. However, the site gives good details about the types and will save me a lot of typing

They have recommendations but are a site selling them.
If you can wait a day or so I can dig up and post some less biased information and links I got when I looked into it earlier this year

:jj:
Oh and believe me home make wheat grass juice (which that site rightly notes on all appropriate juicers) is an important consideration in choosing a juicer
That's one mistake I made but didn't realize until after I purchased it
Although where the heck you'd get it fresh in nyc I don't know. But once you do get it you can just grow it yourself like herbs
Bye You!

I finally found the info I was looking for on juicers
The Consumer Reports info, although free, was less complete & helpful that the other sources
You can juice all fruits vegetables and herbs. Commonly people only think of fruit. Favorite combinations have been a mix of fruits, vegetables and herbs.
I'll post some of these later but here is an uncommon one and the taste is meh but mega healthy.
Potential Health Benefits ***** : Taste: * : Potential Benefits - Heal intestines, support immune system, cleans blood, clears sinuses, alkalizes small intestine, detox heavy metals
Garlic, Onion, Cilantro & mixed with water
High in vitamin B6, Manganese, Vitamin C, Chromium + lower amounts of 8 others
Ended up buying a centrifugal Breville juicer. Cheap $89 @ amazon. Works great but not for wheat grass which I just grind myself. Minor drawback takes 3-5 minutes to clean
I cross checked as many review sources as I could for the different models I narrowed it do to in the end
Here are a few helpful sites in addition to Amazon / Nextag / ePinions http://www.epinions.com/Juicers & other really big sites for reviews and information

Yesterday I made a tasty smoothie you may enjoy. In a blender put 1 cup soy milk, 1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries, 1 banana. Blend for a few seconds and you're done! Delicious.

I add raw chopped Kale, and flax, chia or hemp seeds to mine, sometimes add agave for sweetener.
