Super programmer Tim came off really poorly when discussing how he handled Steve's notice.

That job was a rib. Asshats like Sabean and Greenstein are cashing in on the subscription money and talent probably doesn't even make enough to afford a decent apartment in NYC. Seems like he did all the right things and takes his career seriously, even though nobody else did.
Bye You!

i hear Steve in 101.9 in his new gig. He sounds exacrly the same, but does real news stories. I'm happy for him.

i've been searching for an online link to 101.9's feed, but came up empty.
in fact, there's very little info on the web regarding the current state of 101.9 in New York. all that i could conclusively determine is that WEMP became the station's new official callsign as of this past Monday, replacing WRXP. also, it looks as if this station has had a complicated and confusing recent history, as per this blurb found on Wikerpedia:
At 5:00 PM on July 15, 2011, after playing "Long Live Rock" by The Who, WRXP switched to a stunt of Adult Contemporary music with the brand "101.9 FM New." At 6:00 AM on July 18, WRXP began a live morning show hosted by veteran New York City radio personality Paul Cavalconte (who has been with 101.9 since 1998), with Jeff McKay (formerly of Shadow Traffic and WINS) providing weather and traffic updates.[8] The station's call letters were changed to WEMP on July 21. On July 25, 2011, the first ever newscast premiered at 4PM with Alice Stockton-Rossini and Mike Barter.
so, is 101.9 WEMP now an all-news format? i've heard Howie say this once or twice this week, but i can't find any confirmation on the internets.

i listened to it on wednesday all day at work. There was a lot of music, but more news than usual. I like the music they play, as far as music that's appropriate for work goes. They p;lay a wide mix, which is good. Dave Matthews, Green Day, lots of new and old alternative.
i did say to my assistant a few weeks ago that the station was going through an indentity crisis and didn't really know what it wants to be. It used to be a little harder rocking, while still work appropriate. but we still usually sing along to every song.
i hope it doesn't go to all news. i finally found a station i like
