The Gun Club was such a criminally overlooked band. Their final album "Lucky Jim" was a masterpiece in the middle of the shit 90's morass we called music.

The Gun Club are in my top 10 favorite bands of all-time.
Jeffrey Lee was a totally self-taught guitarist and evolved the band in a direction which reflected his growth. He became a Stevie Ray Vaughn-esque guitar impresario.

His solo blues album was also pretty good. The White Stripes did an awful cover of "For The Love Of Ivy" but it may have helped bring the Gun Club a little more press.
