Thank you to Beatlejews for inspiring me to do this.
This is for everything Beatles, plus Beatles influenced bands, The Rutles, interviews, photos, anything Beatles related.
I'll start with their first US hit

Bloody buggerdy beautiful concept for a thread, and I'm glad a few people here are still into the Beatles.... Back in the 80's, I loved going to record stores and digging for bootleg recordings, and plunking down ridiculous amounts of cash just to hear outtakes and demos and bickering or joking between takes... a great deal of that stuff is now on Anthology, remixed and remastered, so it takes a little of the magic away...
This is purely my own speculation, but this seems to me to be Paul busting John's balls about Yoko, booze, and being flakey in general...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_h9OyyM3QU
Another favorite moment of strife was from the Let It Be sessions, when George is pissed off at Paul, and he's like "Just tell me what you want to hear...I'll play it just how you want it, I'm just a hired musician..." or words to that effect....If I locate that I'll post it....Hell, I would have paid $200 for a used bootleg of Ringo farting back in those days...

recorded during the Let It Be sessions, they would often screw around singing each others songs he also does I Want You at some point, John took a shot or 2 at Get Back and there are a bunch of versions with both John and Paul singing it

I remember that. George was so fed up. It was sad watching them being so angry and annoyed with each other.
Paul seemed like a real prick.

How lucky is Mia Farrow's sister to have the Beatles write a song about her? I loved the part in Mia's book when she told how they all went to India to study meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and when he tried to whisper her special 'mediation word' to her, she sneezed & never did find out what it was. Ooops... :secret:

Spazz, you might be right, but without looking it up, I would have SWORN that Badfinger was all Paul's baby....? They sound a little like early Wings to me, so maybe that's why I thought that :dontknow:
I read a great book about the whole "Paul is dead" phenomenon, I think it was called The Walrus Was Paul... and if I can remember to look for it, there's a rather long series of YouTube videos about it, but I don't remember what it's called right now....
While I've never believed that Paul is dead and was replaced by an imposter, there was SO much stuff (most of it a real stretch) that I think it's highly likely the boys were up to some sort of shenanigans....

Alot of the backwards stuff was a little iffy but the Turn me on deadman was loud and clear also the forward "I buried Paul" was a bit too coincidental. Lennon later went on to say he meant that he buried Paul on he recording or mixing - yeah right.

The song is writen by George Harrison.
Pattie Boyd Was Harrison's wife that Eric Clapton had the hots for , So much that a few of his "Derrick and the dominoes songs were about her .
Driven by my obsession with Pattie, I was writing a lot, and all the songs I wrote for the Dominos first album are really about her
I was writing a lot, and all the songs I wrote for the Dominos first album are really about her and our relationship. “Layla” was the key song, a conscious attempt to speak to Pattie about the fact that she was holding off and wouldn’t come and move in with me. There was also “Bell Bottom Blues” and “I Looked Away” and later I would go on to write “Have You Ever Loved A Woman” and “Why Does Love Have To Be So Sad.”

Anyone ever play beatles trivia pursuit? My dad and I would play for hours, the questions can be kinda difficult. But this is where I learned countless information. It's a very fun game for beatle lovers. I can play all day and there are so many questions that it never gets old!

What always really struck me is how George and Eric could remain pretty good friends through and after this....
I think it was bc Harrison knew the marriage was over before Clapton and Boyd started the affair. Clapton originally dated Pattie's sister ( rumor only to get closer to Pattie) and she left him after hearing "Layla" and realized he was singing about Boyd.

Alot of the backwards stuff was a little iffy but the Turn me on deadman was loud and clear also the forward "I buried Paul" was a bit too coincidental. Lennon later went on to say he meant that he buried Paul on he recording or mixing - yeah right.
Apparently he is saying cranberry sauce, but I hear I buried Paul.

one of the best covers I've heard in the last 10 years, but i can never find a performance video of Corinne Bailey Rae doing this.

I used to have a book, I think the title was "The Walrus Was Paul", that was all about the whole "Paul Is Dead" thing. I highly recommend it for fellow obsessives. Anyway, my best guess is that of course PM isn't dead, but that there was a little bit of shenanigans on the Beatles' part..... Too many strange "clues", and I suspect a lot of other mere coincidences that they just ran with.....:dontknow:

Obviously Paul didn't die but there are a lot of things that the beatles played into... It is kinda of fun to look at but come on who believes Paul is a fake Paul!?!

Oh and that book is a fun read, but not very reliable! Haha

Remember the great hoax. My friends and I spent hours spinning beatles records backwards. It was really creepy the 1st time I heard "turn me on deadman" on Revolution #9
I love a good conspiracy theory and the Paul is dead, is one of mah faaaaavorites..
One funny movie is The Last Testament of George Harrison .

Totally bullshit with a cheesy George voice over by an impersonator. But nevertheless an entertaining, surprisingly plausible theory of how it might have happened.

The dude who made The Winged Beatle movie, has also experimented with re-recording the beatles songs backwards. When you play All you need is love backwards, it sounds like Teeny Lucifer :D. (more like Lawcifer in my opinion).

Now here is where it gets interesting. When you play Teeny Lucifer backwards, it sounds surprisingly like All you need is love.

Finally the original All you need is love reversed.
