He was completely real, and he's down with the baby gorilla! What's not to love?
Most guys battling back from their demons turn into these kind of recovery-zombies, reciting slogans and wearing WWJD bracelets and whatever the fuck, but Irvin can talk about the dark days.
I still don't agree with him on a lot of football stuff, and I hated him as a player, especially the way he always pushed off and got away with it, but I like the dude. In a sea of phoniness that is American sports he's real. I wish him well.................and I didn't always.
