Ridiculous tax cuts for the rich require strong measures against the working class I guess. :rolleye:
WASHINGTON (AP) – Senate Republicans derailed a Democratic bill on Tuesday aimed at keeping interest rates on federal college loans from doubling July 1 in an election-year battle aimed at the hearts — and votes — of millions of students and their parents.

Good. I hope they keep this up right up until the election. Hit everyone in the pockets where it hurts so that the wounds are fresh come election day.

All those kids with Black Studies and Sociology degrees who are working at Burger King, if they work at all, are contributing so much to society with the knowledge they obtained getting a worthless degree that they shouldn't have to pay off their debts and live up to what they agreed to do.

I guess the GOP are stupid as ever. People were questioning whether the youth would come out again for Obama. Hmmm, i think they found a nice issue (common sense one as well) to get out the youth vote.

Fuck them. I bet it says in their loan agreement that the rate were subject to change in July 2012.
They knew that this could happen so why should they be upset when it does.
Hell, we are already broke, if they want to spend an additional 6 billion for this fine, just find 6 billion in cuts to pay for it.
Didn't the democrats pass paygo a few years ago, why does that never happen if it is the law??
This is just like the dumb fucks who signed up for a adjustable rate mortgage, a adjustable rate credit card on any adjustable rate loan. You are informed that there is a possibility that your rate can go up so why would you be surprised when it does??
The taxpayers have payed enough for irresponsible behavior and stupidity, we can't afford to do it anymore.
