I never mentioned the origins of funny captions, merely that the reading of the aforementioned book gave him the impetus to try this stuff out for himself--if you're going to read my posts, then please read them correctly the first time. He's very good at it, make no mistake, and it's an easy laugh (and clean). But on JF's second appearance, Artie made sure to talk up the book so much, and voila; the Artie Tweets appear the following week. I'm sure he said to himself "I could do this in my sleep and make money off of it."

JF is a regular character on 30 Rock. A hack, maybe, but a rich one.

Yeah, I hear ya. I was a Stern fan at one time but I realized I was more of a fan of Art's than Howard.

I like them both very much and I don't hold a grudge against neither (edit; lol. Just realized I picked that up livin' in the South for a while). The truth is none of us know what went down behind the scenes before, during and after Artie left the show, so I'm not passing judgment on any of the people involved. I think a lot of people are hating a bit too hard on Howard. Sure, he's far from a perfect person and I get the reason why people are negative about him, but I still can't get tired of listening. Evidently a lot of people on the web too, because they're all talking about him and the show.

But I definitely agree that Artie made the show a whole lot more entertaining. I'm catching up now, halfway through 2008 now. Artie was a great addition to the team. For better or worse, the best fights of the show involved him. Fucking hate high pitch Mike and Lisa G and every time Artie bulldozed over them made me very happy.

But Artie is posting mock excerpts of his own real life, with witty commentary on both himself and various celebrity miniscandals. I don't see any connection at all. Again, he joined Twitter, which allows him to post text and photos, so what ELSE would the results look like other than photos and funny text? I understand that other comedians post funny thoughts on the service too, and have been for a long time...

Last time, one time. I merely put forth the idea that the IMPETUS for Artie finally jumping on the Twitter photo bandwagon may have come from the kid. That's all. I wasn't trying to debate who was funnier, but if you don't see a connection and I do, that merely means we're on different wavelengths. No one said anything about "MASSIVE"; the bar was set simply at "Someone leaving the show and not falling flat on their face.... successful".

Actually I'm truly impressed at Artie's admission that he gets 40 G's a show these days--literally 1/2 the money he used to get during the Stern years, but still damn good money. I think his rate was about 70-80,000 back in the day. Anyway they've got a 3-year deal and during that time who knows what can happen? I just hope Artie stays clean as well as funny. I wonder how much Nick gets for his gigs.

I love it when the little bits of resentment come out of Nick concerning the lack of communication from Stern. He's not as honest as he could be (since he doesn't want to burn that bridge) but knows the show would not have him on because of his association with Artie.

Opera is the best browser ever, yet almost no one uses it. 100% customizable everything. Plus the mouse gestures & mouse wheel + button combos are unique and awesome.

I agree with you that fast-food is less bad than smack and coke, but that's also a heart-attack waiting to happen. The guy is off drugs now, which I'm really happy about, but he seriously needs to slow down on all the other bad shit if he wants to survive. He really should be able to kick smoking and fast-food, which are bullshit addictions anyway.

Artie should channel his addictive personality into a good lifestyle. Like eating healthy shit and exercising. There's tons of mental and physical energy to spend with those kinds of things and the returns are only positive.
