What's the backstory with the witless taglines? The show is mediocre enough as it is.
The labored intro ending with "mandate, get it on" is just stupid, the "zip it, cunt" thing is mildly amusing for shock value (but demeaning to the woman saying it), and "Mahalo" at the end comes off like an ad for that Calacanis guy (who runs a competing podcast network).
I'm sure there are stories behind these, but they do the show no favors in my opinion...
(P.S. The sound effects guy still stinks at sound effects.)

Mahalo is from his Loveline days.

Thanks, I figured it was unrelated (and I know it's Hawaiian).

The taglines dont bother me.
I listen to the Carolla show often but rarely make it through an entire episode. typically i zone when there is a guest.

Huh, I'm somewhat the opposite. I'm starting to think I should just view it as I do the Maron WTF show -- only listen when there's a guest I recognize and like.
I wonder why the show is the "most downloaded podcast" or whatever the title is. It's so inoffensive and middle of the road (maybe that's why). Don't mistake me, he can be interesting and entertaining, just not in a compelling or particularly funny way.
