Super excited for this. First studio album in over 5 years! I was a huge fan of Snakes and Arrows, in fact thought it was the best album they have put out since i have become a fan, around 1990. Loved the feel of that record and its sound, it felt and sounded like older Rush, progressive and big. Nick Raskulinecz, who produced S&A as well as this new album "gets it" and i think he pulling some of the best stuff out the trio in a long time. Here is some info on and a "teaser" for the new album.....

I am a big Rush fan although I dont like anything after Signals with the exception of Snakes and Arrows which was pretty good for a bunch of old folks :p. That new song sounds pretty good, I will surely download it.
been a fan since 82 :juggalo:
I saw a documentary recently on TV and it was pretty fascinating, especially the dynamics within the band

Snakes and Arrows was my favorite release since i became a fan. It sounded most like the old school RUSH i had only heard on tape and CD. This really sounds like it is cut from the same cloth.
YOu probably saw Beyond The Lighted Stage.

Yep thats the one. Growing up in the 70's/80's you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing Tom Sawyer, Spirit of the Radio etc constantly.

Seemed to totally miss this before. That is Awesome. There is a great article written by peart where he talks about visiting specific places when he is in Ohio. I thought about trying to go there on the days around shows in cleveland and hoping to run into him! Here is a link to the article if anyone cares!

Took my son to his first concert back in 08, when he was 8. Had 6th row seats. During the encore, Geddy walks up to edge of stage where we were and looks right at my boy and waves. Everyone around us was high fiving him. Great memory for him. Taking him tomhis 2nd Rush show this October, a week after his birthday. He is going to be psyched.

Well the more i am listening the more i am getting into it. This really is the sound that i wish was present on albums like Presto, and Counterparts. Geddy's bass is huge and predominant. And damn there are some slick riffs on this album. Carnies main riff is rockin head bobbin slammin. Seven Cities of gold starts with some seriously funkin bass.
My favorite i think... is still Headlong Flight, and i love down turn and somberness of BU2B2. You can definatly feel the narrative as the album progresses. And there is definatly feeling of resolution, or acceptance at the end with The Garden.
NOw ijust need to listen to it 10,000 more times and go see the live show!
Anyone else been rockin this shit?

Have listened to it a few times. Just did again while mowing the lawn. 7 Cities Of gold is the one growing on me the most so far. Some great jamming. Love the line "I can't stop thinking big" in Caravan. Taking my son in October to see them. Seems like forever to wait.

Well the show was pretty bad ass. The Strings where primarily used for the tunes off the new album, although they did play a couple other tunes with them, and it was cool as shit. Especially since they were standing and rocking out as apposed to sitting in chairs like an orchestra.

We had a great time. I liked that it wasn't a greatest hits tour. Lotta deep tracks from the " later" earlier stuff. Highlight for me was the new stuff with the string section. I really enjoyed it and my kid did too. He was bummed the next day that the anticipation of going for so long was over. Next tour.
