Do they double as hammer drills??? I need a new cordless hammer drill and want a lithium-ion model, probably bosch. Everyone raves about those little impact drivers but I don't know the difference. Are they the same as pneumatic impact drivers or do they hammer also??? Looking for someone who has one to tell me what they love/hate about it. :hathair:

They don't hammer, but they kick ass for driving screws thru fucking anything! I've used them to drive 3" torx head screws.
Cordless Impacts are great.. We have them in all of our shops they DO NOT double as a hammer drill
DeWALT 18volt is the best.

I bought a pneumatic one recently but I looked long and hard at the portables. Just make sure that the portable has enough torque to do whatever you need it for.

I have pneumatics for working in the garage but need something for working around the house. I'm running a bunch of electric in my basement and my old hammer drill is about to shit the bed. I was reading some stuff on amazon and a few people implied that the impact drivers doubled as hammer drills.
