I used to but since Fez became a mute I don't anymore.

Also when East Side Dave wasn't given a small raise so he could commute it soured me on the show, he was the second mic while Fez was recovering from being a nervous wreck which has taken like 5 years.

I had an Audible sub to their show for a while. I stopped listening around the time Dave left and Fez started breaking down on a regular basis. I wish Fez could get out of his funk and Dave could come back. When that show was firing on all cylinders it was one of the best shows around.

I really don't get why Fez bothers....He really contributes nothing and his salary could be put towards Dave or anyone....I used to have pity for him but now it's anger at his selfishness for being there everyday but contributing nothing...Now Ron on the other hand is a genious at turning chicken shit into chicken soup....The guy is as quick witted as anyone in history, bar none.....Pepper and Zito are great....Black Earl was as useless as tits on a bull

They have to get rid of Fez. It's your show and you are not on the mic when it starts. Goodbye. The guy picking up the slack on second mic s probably making $10 an hour. While Fez has to be making well over $100K for doing nothing. Make it the Ron and Nobody show and get rid of Fez. The only thing he is good for is for Opie to make fun on him. It's disturbing and annoying to listen to the show without him there so get rid of him.

I love how Ronny let the uncomfortable silence stand on it's own....A coupla times in the past Ronny did a bit, pretending to be pissed at Fez and he would leave the studio, leaving Fez to flounder on his own....Good stuff

When I got the Best of XM package I would listen to it but I found that most of the time I was forcing myself. I don't like Ron's attitude. He has an attitude that he's the best. Some segments of the show I will listen to depending on what they're discussing but most of it is Ron bringing up topics just to get callers to call in and kill time.

Ron will innocently start talking about bad neighbors for example and then all of a sudden he'll start inviting callers to call in with bad neighbor stories. I don't like that shit. I don't like when radio shows do that to kill time.
The show is very call centric. Being more used to Bubba and Stern's shows it took me a while to get used to.

I dropped the Stern show in December and started listening to Ron and Fez in January. Not knowing the history, and just comparing it to the Stern show of 2012, I feel like I'm in radio heaven. Ron is really bright with a wicked, super droll sense of humor. A couple of weeks ago he sat in with O&A for a couple of hours and it was great. If Ant dropped Op and Ron dropped Fez, the Ant and Ron show with Jim Norton would be excellent. Still, I'm a big fan and listen every day.

A lot of discussion on just how fucked up Fez is which is not new but around Xmas Ron said there was gonna be some sort of announcement in February....Last week he said there would be an announcement next week...He basically told Fez that if he can't talk on the radio that there's really no point in him being there. He said that years ago Fez developed the character "Fez" and eventually became that character in real life but for whatever reason that character is now gone, and we're left with "Todd", Fez's real name and persona, that is fucked up and contributes nothing.....I think Ron is ready to move on without him..

I haven't heard the show in a while but it'll sadden me if the show ends. Ron is a hell of a talent and I can't see him leaving radio just yet. I heard rumors that Fez has been considering working in voice acting. Either way, having started listening in 2009 fans were already complaining about how far the show has fallen but I didn't have anything to compare it to. If the show is causing Fez stress and Ron wants to move on, it's best to end it I hate to say.

I only started listening to R&F a year ago--I never heard a show where Fez was a real participant in the show. Since you couldn't really discuss them on SFN, it was difficult to get the background on the boys. I sort of assumed that Fez's schtick was to be a whiny cunt while Ronnie did all the heavy lifting and actually hosted the show. To hear that Fez actually used to be a co-contributor blows my mind--I thought all the goofing on him was a running joke or something.

All that said, Fez contributes nothing to the show. Ronnie is the talent--hell, Ronnie is probably the best interviewer on radio, period. All the bitching Ronnie does about Fez was funny for about a month, but now it's tiring. They should take his name off the show and let him go back to just being a producer or fire the little fairy.

When I first started listening I just assumed Fezzie was ghey. Anyway, it was great hearing the life flow back into Fez and the show after the announcement. WTF was he waiting for anyway? No one gives a shit, no one gives a fuck.

Stern should do the same and come out of the closet, then all the "beer can cock" references and AGT talk would be in a context that makes sense. Maybe Howard would even stop pissing on his fans and drop that beard of a wife.

Powerful realization after years in a gay role is followed by anguished honesty



It was only after playing a gay character on the radio for 20 years, says Fez Whatley (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Fez+Whatley), that he realized he is one.
So last Friday on the “Ron and Fez” show over Sirius XM (XM 105, Sirius 206), he came out.
“I can’t be a part of ‘it gets better’ until I make sure things are going to get better for me,” he said.
In contrast to the almost offhanded way that “White Collar” star Matt Bomer (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Matthew+Bomer) came out a couple of weeks ago, Whatley, 47, said his journey was marked by anger and denial — to the world, to his friends and to himself.
The Fez character on the show, which was once heard on the late WNEW-FM, has had what Whatley calls “a wicked gay tongue” since Fez joined Ron Bennington (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Ron+Bennington) on the old “Ron & Ron” program in Florida more than 20 years ago.
Fez was “eccentric, over the top, flamboyant and really gay,” says Whatley. “He took down celebrities, talked gossip, lampooned women.”
But when someone asked Whatley if he were really gay, he says, “I’d tell them, ‘Yes, 6-10 a.m. weekdays.’ ”
He never felt any interest in girls, he said, but he figured someday he’d meet “the right one.”
Instead, he said, he realized he was developing “high school crushes” on straight guys. Finally he couldn’t deny it any longer.
“I was just like the character I created. I’m gay.”
Liberating? Nope.
“It was devastating,” he said. “
Fez was no longer a character I played on the air. He was me. People were no longer going to be laughing with me. They’d be laughing at me.
“And now it wasn’t funny any more. I got depressed. I became severely anxious.”
The reason will be familiar to almost everyone who has struggled with sexual identity issues.
“I was still dealing with the shame and guilt of growing up in a religious family and thinking this was wrong,” he said. “It felt like there were too many years of denial to embrace this now.
“I started talking about gay issues, but from a place of anger, not understanding. The fun was gone. All that was there was a really angry closet case.”
And the only way to deal with it, he said, was to come out and “be honest about who I am.”
Response to Whatley’s emergence from the audience was immediate and positive. One listener called to say that Whatley’s comments inspired his best friend to come out immediately after hearing the show.

I heard it live. Listeners already thought he was gay--everybody on the show talked about how he was gay. So for listeners, the real surprise seemed to be that "Fez" was just a "gay character" he was playing. It just wasn't a big deal to hear that he was really queer.

Personally, I wish he'd just back to being a producer or leave the show. He doesn't contribute anything of substance (on air).
